White Voile Bridal Gown Circa 1900

This gown is made from white lawn – a very fine cotton. It is trimmed with handmade antique bobbin lace ruffles and insertions. It features a large bertha collar with inset medalions of bobbin lace. The skirt has a larger ruffle trimmed with bobbin lace, and a smaller ruffle around the hem. Two bobbin lace insertions run paralle to the skirt yoke, turn 90 degrees in the front, and fall to the first ruffle. The belt features a period mother of perl buckle. It is worn with a large Edwardian Bridal Gainsborough Hat.  It is made using the #300 Past Patterns 1906 Wedding Gown pattern, which is unfortunately out of print, but can often be found on Ebay or Etsy.
